What is your favorite Adobe program and why? Hope you enjoyed this read. The full name is “Adobe Photoshop Lightroom”, which can confuse budding editors due to the word “Photoshop” in it, but it makes sense. I would love to hear from yall and see what you think. Remember guys this is just my opinion and what works best for me, some people are going to have a different opinion and I completely respect that. Indesign- designing ads, business systems and multi page PDFs Illustrator- Vector art (love love love this program) Photoshop- Newborn photos and creating files that have transparent backgrounds. So here are the Adobe Programs that I use the most and what I use them for. In those instances I do a face swap, and that is something that needs to be done in photoshop.

Or another example I have done some family sessions where that one person who wont look at the camera, and theres only one picture of him smiling but no one else is looking. Or maybe the background needs to be extended up or out, and then I have to use the content aware scale option. For example I generally always use a heating pad to put underneath the blankets to help keep the baby comfy and cozy, so even though I try and hide it, sometimes its in unavoidable to have a cord sticking out. There is so much more gear that goes into it. Newborn born sessions for instance are a bit different that any other session. Now there are instances where I personally think photoshoot is better for certain things. Now my photo editing time takes 3-5 minutes!!! Granted I still have a lot more to learn but the difference is amazing. However I started to look up tutorials and other photographers blogs and started to play around with it and boy was that an eye opener. Guys lightroom is amazing, but when I opened that program for the first time I was so lost, it was nothing like Photoshop I thought. Lightroom seemed to be what most photographers used, so I thought it was time I opened up the program and start to get to know it. So what to do, what to do? I sat back prayed for direction and really started to research what would help me improve with my photography all around. One action did not look good on one photo vs the next. I found some great presets and they really did help me speed up the time it took to edit, but something I started to notice was that my photos started to look flat, and inconsistent. So I started researching and found Action presets for photoshop, thinking that was going to solve the problem. I started to notice that I was loosing the desire to take photos much less edit them. Now, at that point I was getting frustrated and tired of sitting in front of the computer so long. What I started to notice though, was even though my photos were looking good it was taking me way to long to edit one photo. Then when I really started getting into photography professionally again I feel back in my comfort zone using photoshop. I was thrilled when we learned how to manipulate photos and got to use the liquify tool, blend and all those other amazing tools in photoshop. I took several photography classes and loved it, but we never really dived into editing in Adobe Lightroom. While I was getting my degree I used Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign primarily.

My background is Graphic Design, thats what I got my degree in and it is a huge part of me. For the longest time you would have heard me say that Adobe Photoshop was the only program that I needed for editing my photos, Well my view point on that has completely changed and here is why.
